PRESS RELEASE: 2023 Barrie Santa Claus Parade Road Closures

The Barrie Chamber of Commerce, while partnering with the City of Barrie is pleased to announce the return of the much-anticipated Barrie Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, November 18, 2023. The parade will begin at Lakeshore Drive and Tiffin Street at 5:00pm. In preparation for this festive event, please be advised of the following road closures to facilitate the parade route and associated celebrations:

  1. Lakeshore Drive from Minet’s Point to Tiffin (Westbound): Closed to all traffic except parade vehicles starting at 1:00 PM.
  2. Lakeshore Drive from Tiffin to Toronto/Simcoe: Closure in both directions beginning at 2:00 PM.
  3. Lakeshore Drive at 2 and 6 Toronto Street: Access limited to residents. Only the north driveway will be accessible to northbound Toronto Street, directing traffic to westbound Simcoe Street to exit the area. This closure starts at 2:00 PM and lasts until the parade's conclusion.
  4. Toronto Street from Simcoe to Dunlop W: Closure in both directions starting at 4:00 PM, lasting until the end of the parade.
  5. Dunlop from Bradford to Poytnz, Owen from Dunlop to Collier: Closed from 6:00 AM, Dunlop from Bradford to Five Points and Mulcaster to Poyntz will reopen following the parade, Dunlop from Five Points to Mulcaster and Owen from Dunlop to Collier will reopen following the Noella Tree Lighting Celebration
  6. Mulcaster from Collier to Dunlop: Closure from 5:00 PM, lasting until the end of the parade
  7. Simcoe Street from Bayfield to Dunlop: Closure from 5:00PM, lasting until the end of the Noella Tree Lighting Celebration

Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and join us in celebrating this festive season with the Barrie Santa Claus Parade.

We highly suggest that those residents and businesses located East of Toronto Street and South of Dunlop East, and West of Poyntz Street carefully consider the above closures as movement in this area will be directly impacted.

We apologize for any inconvenience these closures may cause and thank the public for their understanding and cooperation. These measures are essential for ensuring a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.
