It's a crisp morning on December 6th, 1952. Your children wake up excited - "Santa is coming today!" You shake your head, "No Honey, Christmas isn't for...." Then you remember. It's the Barrie Santa Claus Parade today. "Yes, you're right! Santa IS coming today. Just to visit before the big day." Started just 4 short years ago in 1949 by the Barrie Chamber of Commerce, the parade has already become an entrenched family tradition.
The theme for the 1952 Parade was "Nursery Rhymes".
The Barrie Chamber is proud to share these rarely seen photos of the 1952 Barrie Santa Claus Parade. Join us as we walk down memory lane together.
