Effective January 1, 2026
The Barrie Chamber of Commerce is pleased to continue offering high value events that bring our business community together, including Business After 5 networking events, seminars, workshops and orientations.
As our events continue to grow, we are introducing an updated registration and attendance policy to help ensure these events deliver value for our hosts, partners and guests while reducing waste caused by no shows.
This policy applies to Chamber events offered at no additional cost to attend. Ticketed events will continue to operate under their own registration and attendance policies.
Why this update
- Many Chamber events rely on food, space and resources generously provided by host venues and partners
- Registration numbers directly inform food orders, staffing and setup
- Timely cancellations help reduce unnecessary cost and waste
- Advance registration allows available spots to be offered to others
What this means
- Advance registration is required for all Chamber events
- Walk ins will no longer be granted admittance
- Cancellations are required at least 48 hours prior to the event start time
- Non members may attend up to two Chamber events before membership is required
- Non member admission is $20 per event and payable upon registration
For Business After 5 hosts
To support accurate planning and protect the investment made by our BA5 hosts, attendance numbers are based on advance registration. The Chamber manages registration, communication and on site check in for all BA5 events.

POLICY
The Barrie Chamber of Commerce hosts a wide range of events designed to bring our business community together. These include Business After 5 (BA5) networking events, seminars, workshops, orientations and other member engagement opportunities. Month after month, these events continue to see strong participation, meaningful conversations and a willingness among local business leaders to connect and build relationships.
Advance registration will support an improved networking experience for everyone involved while allowing the Chamber team to plan responsibly and accurately. Many free events, particularly BA5s, rely on food, space and other resources generously provided by host venues and partners. Registration numbers directly inform food orders, staffing, setup and overall costs, helping ensure those investments are respected and that event planning reflects actual attendance.
To maintain the strength, effectiveness and value of Chamber member events and benefits as they continue to grow, the following registration and attendance policies will apply effective January 1, 2026.
