Powered by Magnet, Skills Bridge was created by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) in partnership with the Diversity Institute, and with funding from the Future Skills Centre and the Government of Canada, to address skills gaps in small- to medium-sized businesses.

Until May 31, 2026, you and up to 10 employees can access over 60 courses on the Skills Bridge learning platform at no-cost.

Program learning pathways include over 60 individual courses:

  • Adaptability:  Adapting to changing environments and economy is crucial to success. Build a resilient organization through inclusivity, sustainable practices, Hybrid workplaces, and a creative mindset.
  • Finance and Accounting:  This pathway will explore topics such as the financial foundations, risk management, financial statements, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Workplace Safety:  This pathway and its courses focus on health and safety in the workplace by raising your awareness of key topics. From definitions to practical applications, you will learn about the importance of keeping health and safety in your workplace at the forefront of all your activities.
  • Social Media:  Social media is an integral component of networking, sales, and business competitiveness. This pathway begins with introduction to social media marketing and E-Commerce and builds to effective techniques for SEO and Google Analytics, and video marketing.
  • Sales Fundamentals: Work in Sales or interact with clients? This pathway covers the fundamentals of sales, B2B sales process, customer service, social selling, and E-Commerce.
  • Sales and Marketing:  Effective marketing opens the door to business awareness and potential sales. Learn about marketing techniques and sales fundamentals such as social selling, social media and video marketing, SEO, and most of all: customer service.
  • Management and Supervisory Skills:  From leadership to human resources this pathway is designed as a starting point for business owners, existing, and new managers as they try to maximize the potential of those that report to them.
  • Human Resources:  Learn about the hiring process, the AODA, inclusive HR practices, and tips on how to manage your team.
  • Governance (Ontario):  Understand legal responsibilities, best practices, regulatory and ethical requirements, and roles and responsibilities of board members.
  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for Leaders:  By the Diversity Institute, this is designed to introduce leaders in small and medium enterprises to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and examine how it applies to them.
  • Advanced Digital and Professional Training:  This learning pathway is designed to help address skill gaps by demonstrating specific tools and techniques that help prepare employees for career evolution. Areas range from presentation, to financial literacy, and analytics.
  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for Employees:  By the Diversity Institute, this is designed to introduce employers in small and medium enterprises to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and examine how it applies to them.
  • Digital Skill Basics:  The business world requires digital skills and a strong digital presence. Understand UX design, CSS, HTML, and cyber security with this Digital Skills Basics pathway.
  • Cyber Security:  Learn the basics of Cyber Security with this starter pack.
  • Creativity and Innovation:  Often used as buzzwords, this pathway and its courses break down how any organization can infuse principles of creativity and innovation into their business. From definition to practical application.
  • Communication:  Communication is key whether it’s within your organization or with customers. Communication skills are not ‘nice to haves’ in today’s economy, they are essential. Build your communication skills in presentations, interactions with colleagues, and in customer service.
  • Collaboration:  This learning pathway equips professionals with essential skills to foster strong, resilient teams and meaningful business relationships. Participants will explore effective communication styles, creative problem-solving techniques, and strategies for building positive team connections.
  • Business Essentials:  A small to medium-sized business and its people need a variety of skills from financial awareness, to writing to sales. This learning pathway touches on several areas as an idea foundational starter pack.
  • Artificial Intelligence for All:  Walking you through basic understandings and core concepts, benefits and challenges, generative AI, ways to implement AI in your workplace and strategy, and more.
  • Writing:  Engaging with clients, colleagues, and direct reports requires strong written communication skills. This pathway will start with the basics, help understand business communication and work up to advanced written and oral communication skills.
